Produced by M. Jean-Marie Garde, with consulting winemaker, Michel Rolland, world-renowned winemaker, this Pomerol comes from 35 year-old vines in the perfect gravel and clay soil, with iron and clay subsoil, unfiltered and aged 18 months in oak. The wine has been kept in pristine temperature control conditions since the date it was bottled six years ago. It is a tiny production and is rarely found in the U.S., however, found in the greatest restaurants in Europe. Boasts a dark ruby hue with aromas of mocha, espresso, black jam and dark chocolate. On the palate, lush with round tannins including blackberries, plums, dark cherries, and sweet, smoky oak with violets resulting in a long and delicious finish. It is suggested you allow to decant for a few hours for this Bordeaux style.

Owned by M. Jean-Marie Garde, Clos René’s twin brother, the vineyard is located on the western side of the Pomerol’s terrace, and has been in the same family for generations.
The vines, with an average age of 35 years, are run in a traditional way. They fully benefit from the warm soils. Harvests done by hand, a respectful vinification in temperature controlled tanks and an 18 months ageing in oak barrels, partly renewed yearly, ensure a perfect expression of the terroir.
